Lombardy assumes the presidency of the Four Engines for Europe

Lombardy assumes the Presidency of the Four Motors for Europe, confirming its commitment to promoting economic growth, innovation and cooperation between European regions. In a ceremony that took place at the Neues Schloss in Stuttgart, the undersecretary of the Presidency of the Lombardy Region with responsibility for International and European Relations expressed gratitude to the outgoing presidency of Baden-Württemberg for its contribution and outlined the challenges and priorities for 2024. The significant geopolitical transformations and the evolution of the global panorama require in-depth reflection on the positioning and role that Europe and the Four Motors regions intend to assume in the global context.

“Recognizing the importance of these issues – said the undersecretary – for the future development of the regions and of Europe as a whole, Lombardy is committed to promoting concrete and incisive actions”. The optimization of physical infrastructures, the best use of data and information and preparation for the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence are at the center of the work agenda of the Lombard Presidency, in line with the objectives set by the Italian Presidency of the G7. The objective is to guarantee sustainable and balanced growth, with particular attention to the training and work sector to prepare future generations for the challenges of the labor market. “Through concrete commitment and responsible leadership – concluded the undersecretary – Lombardy wants to continue to be a leading region for the promotion of progress and cooperation”.
