Autogrill Potenza dispute, workers will not be transferred

The meeting on the workers’ dispute at the Autogrill Burger King service area, on the outskirts of Potenza, on the Sicignano-Potenza motorway junction, chaired by the head of cabinet Gerardo Quaranta, took place today in the Prefecture, in Potenza. The company revoked the transfer order to Sala Consilina for the three workers employed and ensured continuity in management, committing itself to strengthening the service structure. “A first step towards the resolution of the dispute which, however, cannot be considered concluded – say the Filcams-Cgil (Michele Sannazzaro) and Uiltucs-Uil (Fabio Tundo) secretaries – joint action by companies and institutions is necessary to relaunch the garrison which is a point of reference for a wide range of users starting from that of the capital. We therefore ask for the opening of a table with the interested parties and the municipal administration to address the issues that are still open. In fact, we would like to remind you that the dispute arose following the request by Anas for the application of fees for the occupation of the land as royalties to Lucana Carburanti Srl, putting the closure of the distributor at risk due to excessively high charges. A glimmer of hope opened in December last year with the commitment of the Municipality of Potenza to start the procedure for the downgrading of the road from state to municipal, sending a formal request to the Ministry of Transport, in order to eliminate the problem once and for all of the fee. To date nothing has been done. Instead, we believe this is an important step towards preserving the entire service area and therefore employment”.
