For a work of art destined for the Urban Ceramics Park
The “Terrae Novae – Urban Ceramics Park” project was presented last April 23rd in the municipal headquarters of Nove, an initiative financed by a tender announced by the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce for the tourism development of the area.
As illustrated by the curator Federica Preto, “Terrae Novae” will develop into a series of initiatives which, on the one hand, will promote the companies and cultural history of the city through thematic itineraries linked to corporate and cultural tourism, and on the other will aim to enhance the historic center of Novese through the creation of an urban park of ceramic works.
It is precisely on this last aspect that the competition for the selection of a “site specific” project to be carried out mainly in ceramic material, conceived by national and international artists and designers, is based. The selected project, in addition to receiving a cash prize, once realized thanks also to a possible collaboration with the companies that will join the initiative, will integrate the already existing widespread museum to start the Urban Ceramics Park.
Present at the meeting were the president of the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce, Giorgio Xoccato, the mayor of Nove, Luca Rebellato, accompanied by councilors and city councilors, and representatives of the economic categories involved.
For Confartigianato Imprese Vicenza, the municipal president Stefano Bordignon and the provincial and regional president of the ceramics profession, Maria Teresa Maroso, took part in the meeting.
