There is great energy for the twelfth edition of the Professional Day conceived and organized by CISMe, a cooperative society, in collaboration with the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria – Job Placement Sector, and the Reggio Calabria Chamber of Commerce and with the Special Company IN SHAPE.
Reggio Calabria, Professional Day: 9 and 10 May the dates to remember
This morning the event was presented at a press conference in the Chamber of Commerce hall. PDay will be held in Reggio Calabria on 9 and 10 May, from 9am to 2pm, at the Mediterranean University, in the Engineering headquarters, in via Graziella in Feo di Vito.

The press conference opened, moderated by the journalist Paola Suracithe president of the Chamber of Commerce, Antonino Tramontana which underlined the commitment of the promoting bodies to offer job opportunities to the area. «The collaboration with theUniversity and with Cisme to offer a further opportunity for young people to find work and not be forced to leave this city. There are 53 companies that will participate in Pday this year and 163 job positions will be offered».
Also the rector of the Mediterranean University Giuseppe Zimbalatti he spoke of a great opportunity for the area. «The public university has, among other tasks, also that of carrying out activities of scientific, technological and cultural transfer and productive transformation of knowledge, through processes of direct interaction with civil society and the entrepreneurial fabric, with the objective of promoting the economic and social growth of the territory, so that knowledge becomes instrumental for obtaining social, cultural and economic benefits. The so-called third mission and we at Mediterranea carry it forward with the Job Placement sector. This is why today we are happy with the numbers of this edition which suggest a sure success.”
All the numbers of the review
The numbers, therefore, tell of an ever-growing event, which is a point of reference for Calabria and offers the area job opportunities: 53 companies present at this edition and many interviews booked.
To tell the news of this 2024 edition there is Mario Carbonepresident of Cisme which immediately highlights “the success of the formula which last year saw the hiring of 65 people after the interview”.

«This year – adds Carbone – for the Professional Day we have two important innovations: the first concerns orientation. We will give fourth and fifth year high school students the opportunity to visit the Companies area where interviews with recruiters and their candidates will be held to see in a direct and real way how a selection event for the world of work takes place, and then go to the Aula Magna where the orientation delegates, the Chamber of Commerce and a trainer will offer a path on the profiles leaving the University Mediterranean and on the awareness of choice.”
The focus is on training
«The other is training – continues Carbone – again on day 9, in the afternoon a “Sustainable Business and Wellbeing” course will be held for entrepreneurs. The appointment is at 3.00 pm in the Engineering Aula Magna of the Mediterranean University and there are already more than forty people enrolled in the course”.
Synergies between business and the academic world, agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and the Mediterranean University
Therefore the University and Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Calabria together to help young people grow. Precisely for this reason, during the press conference an agreement was also signed framework agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria to strengthen synergies between the business and academic worldsaiming them at the technical and economic growth of the territory.

With the signing of the agreement, the two institutions will consolidate the existing profitable collaboration relationship and will increase, also in terms of effectiveness, the activities relating to the sectors of orientation, training, economics, valorisation of research results, innovation, technology transfer and intellectual property.
