ROVIGO – “Work is not just a right. It is also the tool through which the person expresses and realizes himself, connects with his community, enriches it and participates in its development. It must be protected, as an essential element of every human society. It is no coincidence that our founding fathers have referred to it since the first article of our Charter” declares Valeria Cittadin, at dawn on May 1st, Workers’ Day.

“The figures released a few days ago by the staff of the Prevention, Hygiene and Safety Service in the workplace (Spisal) of the Ulss 5 company do not leave us indifferent. In the last year, three people in our province have lost their lives while carrying out their profession. To this figure must be added that of the numerous accidents and professional illnesses, which sometimes leave indelible marks” underlines the candidate for mayor of Rovigo, supported by Fratelli d’Italia, Lega per Salvini Premier, Forza Italia, UDC, Coraggio Italia and a civic list transversal with Action.

“For years I have fought for workers’ rights, as part of my previous trade union role. As mayor, I will work to ensure that everyone in Rovigo can find a real, dignified and safe job. And so that every citizen of Rovigo of good will can have the opportunity to fulfill himself and contribute to the maintenance of his family, with his head held high and without risks to his health. Particular attention will be paid to adults who have lost a job and are struggling to find it: for them we will encourage the creation of further permanent training and professional placement courses, which, as certified by the Sole24ore ranking, bring together a number of membership among the lowest in Italy.

Young people also deserve help, especially those excluded from study courses, who too often appear disenchanted and confused – continues the candidate – Rovigo must not leave anyone behind. It can become an attractive capital, where companies, especially those with a high rate of innovation, shops, public establishments, artisans and professionals find fertile ground to work and create jobs, with more infrastructure and favorable fiscal conditions, starting from the Tari and from the IMU – he concludes – A job that is real, not the result of easy welfare.

Precisely for this reason, for the benefit of those who are in difficulty and want to immediately put themselves at the service of everyone, we will establish reciprocity income, which will allow people who carry out small jobs for the Municipality to receive vouchers that can be spent in our shops, such as maintenance, surveillance, support for the elderly. Without giving useless bonuses or salaries to those who don’t want to roll up their sleeves and make themselves available to the community.”
