A visit to Livorno regasifier ship, to celebrate the work of naval repairs in the port of Genoa, but above all to start becoming familiar with something similar to what should arrive off the coast of Vado Ligure by the end of 2026. The president of the Liguria Region and commissioner for the installation in the Savona sea of the Golar TundraGiovanni Toti, carried out an inspection on the Olt offshore ship Fsru “Tuscany”moored in the former superbasin, where in recent days an extraordinary maintenance phase began by San Giorgio del Porto.
The works will continue in June in Marseille, due to the large dimensions of the ship not compatible with the Genoese docks. «This system is the first Fsru in the world, a ship with moss containment technology, with cylindrical spheres, which are not present on the Golar Tundra because the ship’s deck is completely flat and has much more simplified systems and a visual impact and environmental issues are much smaller”, he explains Elio Ruggeri, president of Olt and CEO of Snam fsru. For the Genoese company this is a 15 million euro order, which will employ 300 people both in the Genoese and French construction sites, where the bulk of the work will take place.
However, for the disputed move from Piombino to Vado Ligure, the time is not yet ripe. Snam has delivered all the additions requested in this area to the Ministry of the Environment.
