The Teatro Stabile di Potenza reopens after the works

It took nine months and around 650 thousand euros to return the Francesco Stabile theater to the public.

The history of the theater is ancient, in fact the structure was inaugurated on 26 January 1881, and was designed looking at two important models: the Scala in Milan and the prestigious San Carlo in Naples from which it drew significant inspiration.

Various interventions followed one another over time, among the most significant, those of 1971, works which did not have time to be completed because, following the 1980 earthquake, the building suffered new damage which led to the suspension of the renovation.

Work resumed years later and concluded in 1990.

The latest works on the property concerned, first of all, the restoration of all the finishes and decorations. The theater has also been made accessible for disabled people with a platform that leads from the foyer to the lift, thus allowing you to reach both the hall of mirrors – on the third floor – and the foyer on the lower floor.

A new control system was also created with modern wiring that is more functional for the new shows as well as new technological installations also in the reduced area with modern audio and video systems.
