There Rimini Fair it becomes a gymnastics hub and in recent days it has been the turn of the Men’s European Artistic Championships. Closed by the high pitch of the‘ItalyOf bronze in the team event behind Ukraine and Great Britain. It is the third consecutive continental podium for the Italian team which also enjoys the bronze staff of Yumin Abbadini in the all around, arrived 34 years after Juri Chechi’s in Lausanne ’90.
Lorenzo Minh Casali, Matteo Levantesi, Mario Macchiati, Marco Lodadio they complete Italy’s medal quintet, in the final with 5th place in the qualifications and already on the rise after the Rings. At the end of the first rotation the Azzurri are fourth, one point behind Israel, overtaken later after the Vault. However, Ukraine is coming up behind and therefore it is not yet enough to get into the podium area: something that happens with the Even Parallels, an exercise that makes Italy jump a few tenths behind leaders Turkey.
With Sbarra and Corpo Libero Ukraine and Great Britain take off and play for the gold, while Italy is now called upon to defend the bronze from Turkey. The Pommel Horse is decisive: specialist Abbadini makes no mistakes, Casali and Macchiati complete the job and Italy secures the medal.
