CATANIA (ITALPRESS) – Antonino La Spina has been reconfirmed as head of the Sicilian committee of Unpli – National Union of Pro Loco. La Spina has also been national president in office since 2016.
The assembly was held at the Le Ciminiere Exhibition Center in Catania, with over 800 participants and in the presence of local and regional authorities and institutions including Gaetano Galvagno, president of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, Senator Salvo Pogliese, the Regional Councilor for Tourism Elvira Amata, Andrea Messina, councilor for local authorities and the secretary of Anci Sicilia Mario Alvano, as well as representatives and experts from the third sector world and volunteers from the Civil Service.
Born in Sant’Alfio in the province of Catania, Antonino La Spina will chair the Sicilian committee of the Unpli together with the newly elected regional councilors: Sciascia Noemi and Vitello Filippo (AG), Miccichè Luca and Scarlata Salvatore (CL), Barbagallo Antonino, Carciotto Antonino, Pulvirenti Samantha (CT), Speciale Maria Rita (Enna), Corona Pietro, Mola Vincenza and Puglisi Angela (ME), Bonfiglio Rosario, Cangiamila Davide and Trupiano Giuseppe (PA), Molè Lucio (RG), Campisi Antonino (SR), Pavia Maria Anna Teresa and Pecorella Giuseppe (TP).
During the work, the most successful initiatives of the Sicilian Pro Loco were also reviewed and the results achieved during the events promoted by Unpli such as the Quality Festivals, the Salvatore Palato prizes were awarded to the Pro Loco that performed best distinguished during 2023, while the Salvatore Rovello award was awarded to the Pro Loco volunteers for the management of the Civil Service.
During the event there was also no shortage of tastings and reviews of typical local products organized by the provincial Pro Loco committees.
