“Let’s stand together to stop the negotiations with Seri”

Ally against the negotiation of Industrial series of the Caserta brothers Civitillo, started with Leonardo and Invitalia for the acquisition of the majority shares of Italian Bus Industry. This is the appeal of the unions, addressed to local administrators this afternoon at Palazzo Caracciolo, on the occasion of the mayors’ assembly, convened by the president of the Province of Avellino, Rizieri Buonopane, for the approval of the budget.

IIA dispute, the unions’ appeal to the mayors of Irpinia

The general secretary of the Fiom-Cgil of Avellino, Giuseppe Morsa, and the provincial secretary of Fismic, Giuseppe Zaolino, reiterated their opposition to the Civitillo brothers from Caserta as possible new majority shareholders of the bus production company based in Flumeri and Bologna. Union representatives and workers have always shown that they are in favor of the offer put forward by the Gruppioni-Stirpe consortium, considered more suitable in terms of solidity and reliability to take over Leonardo’s shares.

Zaolino: “We want to meet the CEO and present him with the proposal to keep the company alive”

“We all understood that that company is going to ruin but there is still the possibility of saving what can be saved. Today’s meeting serves to raise awareness on the part of everyone. The CEO of the IIA must meet us and explain to us why we arrived at this point. We will propose to him the local proposal to keep this company alive: not only Flumeri, but also Bologna” he declared Giuseppe Zaolinoprovincial secretary of Fismic, on the sidelines of the mayors’ assembly which took place at the headquarters of the Province of Avellino.

Morsa: “The mayors should take action with a resolution to be sent to MIMIT to stop the negotiations with Seri”

“We don’t need a financial operation but an industrial operation. The reliability and credibility of the entrepreneurs of Seri Industrial is known to all – he added Giuseppe Morsageneral secretary of the Fiom-Cgil of Avellino – we ask that a serious and constructive dialogue be restored and that we do not talk about just one proposal because there are others that can be evaluated and taken into consideration”.

“Clearly we are not taking a step back. Everyone knows that a company like the IIA cannot survive without the public because it is not self-sufficient, especially with regards to financing – he underlined – we ask the mayors to take action with a resolution to be sent to MIMIT to stop the negotiation with Seri. After that, we intend to organize a meeting with all the mayors, the provincial and regional councilors and the deputies to assert our requests and proposals including that of reviving the IIA, the only Italian company that produces coaches, and to relaunch the area. Local administrators must develop the awareness that only together can we save the area”.
