Frost. The financing of the “Pact for the South” program, intended for the redevelopment of the stretch of Via Cairoli not yet affected by the interventions, was a troubled process to say the least. It ends with the cut of the sums decided by the Region. The decree of the regional infrastructure department has just been issued. The defunding amounts to a total of 840 thousand euros. The municipal offices had arranged for the tender and entrusted the work to a company from Agrigento. In November last year, however, it was decided to revoke the award. After various reminders from municipal officials, the company never received the final guarantee of around 167 thousand euros. There is no longer time for a new contract and at Palazzo di Città, with the same act in November, the “disengagement” of sums amounting to approximately 640 thousand euros was established. The department underlines that the legally binding obligation, with the contract for the works, should have been formalized no later than December two years ago.
