The president of Unindustria città and president of the Small Industry Committee speaks of a “historic milestone”
“The news that Civitavecchia, Fiumicino and Gaeta are officially core ports of the Ten-T network represents a historic achievement and an enormous opportunity for the future of our territory, of the whole of Lazio and Central Italy” declares Cristiano Dionisi, President of Unindustria Civitavecchia and President of the Small Industry Committee of Unindustria.
“Three years after the announcement, the port system of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea enters the trans-European transport system (Ten-T) and will thus be able to access important European funding.
This places Civitavecchia, together with the other Lazio maritime ports, at the level of the most important ports on the continent, on a par, finally, with other capital infrastructures and large industrial regions. This final step on April 24th is only the last step of an incessant work carried out by the Port System Authority and its President Pino Musolino, as well as by the entire political and institutional system and of which Unindustria has been an active part, which recognizes our region’s role as an integrated logistics terminal on the Tyrrhenian-Adriatic road and railway route.
The long-awaited recognition made official last week was a fundamental piece for a significant development strategy for the blue economy in our region and which must now continue with the implementation of planned investments, for example those of the PNRR, and encourage new growth opportunities solid and sustainable for our ports and harbours.”
