Rotary Falconara, boom in participation in uro-andrological screening

FALCONARA – As many as 123 free uro-andrological visits and an initiative so successful that it was “exported”, even uncommon, on Mondays. This is the outcome of the three days of prevention ‘In the field with a camper’ promoted by Rotary Falconara last 19, 20 and 21 April and carried out in collaboration with District 2090 and the Falconara Yellow Cross. In the city, between Piazza Mazzini and Piazza della Libertà (in Castelferretti) 82 medical checks were carried out, the remaining 41 in Staffolo where, given the boom in registrations, it was decided to transfer the event initially scheduled only for Saturday and Sunday in Falconara. The screening was carried out by Dr. Maurizio Diambrini, urologist, andrologist and clinical sexologist, as well as president of the Falconarese Club. Some young people also underwent checks, eight of whom were between 13 and 26 years old (around 6.5 percent of the total), while the participation of adults between the ages of 50 and 89 was greater.

The aim of the initiative, aimed at preventing forms of cancer, has allowed some suspected early diagnoses to be made and thus to ensure people receive further clinical investigations. It’s the prevention chain that worked.
