FLORENCE – There will also be the theme of peace on May 1st of the trade unions. A topic that also appears in the slogan chosen this year for Labor Day: “Let’s build together a Europe of peace, work and social justice”.
In Tuscany, the unions explain in a note, marches, rallies, commemorations, but also musical initiatives and festive gatherings are planned, which will take place in all the provinces of the region. The general secretary of the CGIL Toscana Rossano Rossi in the morning he will take part in the procession in Empoli (Florence) and then go to Livorno for the International Day of Workers, at the Fortezza Nuova. Here, from 2pm, in the debate space, Rossi will participate in the round table on the theme “Work between present and future” with Fabrizio Zannottigeneral secretary of the CGIL province of Livorno, Fabrizio Russonational general secretary of Filcams CGIL, and Michele De Palma, national general secretary of Fiom CGIL.
The general secretary of Uil Toscana Paolo Fantappiè will hold a rally in Piazza Verdi in S. Francesco di Pelago (Florence), where a procession will arrive which will start from Pontassieve and parade through the city streets. The regent of the CISL Tuscany, Mattia Pirulliwhich is part of the national secretariat of the union, will instead participate in the national demonstration in Monfalcone.
