Catanzaro – The Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate has executed a sentence of the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro, Second Criminal Section, which became irrevocable last February, with which 8 subjects involved in the operation called “Low Profile” were definitively convicted ”, judged with an abbreviated trial.

The sentence of 12 September 2023 in fact confirmed the confiscation already determined by the investigating judge of the Ordinary Court of Catanzaro on 28 October 2021 consisting of a composite series of assets attributable to 3 entrepreneurs from Cosenza and Turin believed to be operating under the influence of the local ndrangheta of San Leonardo di Cutro and Roccabernarda, in the territories of Rome, Velletri, Sellia Marina, Simeri Crichi, Montalto Uffugo and Roccabernarda. With the irrevocability of the sentence, the entire business portfolio of 5 companies and 2 individual businesses active in the commercial sectors, as well as banking relationships and financial resources, for a total value estimated at approximately 500,000 euros, is definitively confiscated. Today’s definitive irrevocable confiscation activity, by virtue of the articles. 240, 240 bis and 416 bis paragraph 7 of the Criminal Code (12 sexies of Legislative Decree 306/92), of illicit wealth (movable assets, immovable property, financial relationships, company shares, companies and companies already under seizure) acquired and attributable, directly or indirectly, to mafia-type criminal contexts, protects the healthy part of the national economic fabric and allows the full restoration of legality.
