Doctor Alberto Liguori new Public Prosecutor of Civitavecchia

Doctor Alberto Liguori, 61 years old, is the new Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Civitavecchia. His appointment, which had been in the air for weeks, was made official by the Superior Council of the Judiciary. Liguori, who until yesterday led the Terni Judiciary, had expressly requested to be able to take on the role that until two years ago had been held by Dr. Andrea Vardaro. From September 2022 to today, the role had been assumed, as acting, by the deputy prosecutor Alessandro Gentile.

The new Public Prosecutor, of Calabrian origins, began his career in the judiciary in the early 1990s in Sicily. He then returned to the Cosenza area and was subsequently appointed President of the Supervisory Court of Catanzaro. It arrives in Civitavecchia at a particular time, both in terms of petty crime, with increasingly frequent episodes that cause considerable concern, and in terms of investments, with open construction sites and others that could open their doors for huge public and private funding that they could obviously be tempting for organized crime.
