Waterfront, not just the Madonna dei Martiri district. The procedure for the promenade on the village begins – MolfettaLive.it

The project has always been known: to connect, through a promenade, the western coast to the village, ensuring that in Molfetta there could be a seafront promenade close to the coast, accessible on foot or by bicycle, for the benefit of citizens and tourists.

Now the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together.

The redevelopment of the waterfront to the west, from Torre Calderina to the entire Viale dei Crociati and up to the Secca dei Pali, is almost a reality: the imposing public work is a construction site underway, in the near home stretch, and already very evident. “The permanent establishment of a one-way traffic system – is the Council’s further consideration – makes it possible to foresee the reduction of the roadway, making it possible to widen the pavements which in some points are insufficiently wide to accommodate pedestrian flows”. In the meantime, “At the Cathedral, where the road section widens further, it is possible to create an area that acts as a churchyard and enhances the façade of the church”.

“The objective – concludes the minutes of the Council – is to promote strategic interventions functional to the optimization of the Molfetta coastline, with a view to improving the connection systems and tourist reception services;
