The traditional marathon was held in Marsala, now in its 9th edition. An event that has grown a lot over the years and gives the city a day of sport. To achieve it, several changes to vehicular traffic are necessary. Some citizens report that they had their cars towed because they had not noticed the notices announcing the event, due to their poor visibility. According to some downtown residents, few warnings were placed and often added at the bottom of existing road signs. “We residents often don’t look at the signs under our homes, not out of distraction – a citizen tells us – but because we already know them. Wouldn’t it have been more useful to point out more clearly that you couldn’t park in some streets, as often happens for other events? We asked the police and received evasive answers.” The reference is to processions, especially during the Easter period. The “surprise” of the removal of the car, of course, has a cost for the citizen. To recover the car you must pay the costs for removal and storage, equal to €70, to the municipal police command, where in addition to regaining possession of the vehicle you receive the fine report (€42, reduced €29.4 if the pay within 5 days).
