In Rome from 31 May to 2 June there will be the third Roman edition of Eirenefest, the Book Festival for Peace and Nonviolence, at the Giardini del Verano, based on the idea and organization of Pressenza Italia.

TO Bisceglie in Puglia, in the splendid setting of the Norman-Swabian-Angevin Castle, the first Apulian edition of the event is held from 3 to 5 May. The initiative, strongly desired by various pacifist and non-violent associations, bodies and editorial entities, is in fact spreading in various areas of Italy «to try to take root and present itself as a widespread Festival, which attempts to build paths in a shared and collaborative manner of Peace as an alternative to the winds of war sweeping Europe and beyond” explain the promoters.

To promote theEirenefest Numerous city associations and organizations were in Bisceglie, including the magazine Mosaico di Pace, the Observatory against the militarization of schools and universities, Pax Christi, ANPI Bisceglie, Presidio del libro, the “Da Vinci” high school, Oasi 2, Amnesty International, Caritas city, Searching for an end, Collective citizens for gender issues, Zona Effe, UNESCO Club of Bisceglie, Study Center for Public Schools (CESP) BA/BAT province, diocesan MEIC “Lazzati-Giannetto”.
From 27 to 29 September there will then be the Florentine edition of the festival, which will take place in the Isolotto district of Florence. The program will be dedicated to books for the educational community.
The possibility of a local festival in Monza is also being studied.
