Noceto, 28 April 2024 – 13th and final return day of the Serie A & B Under 17 National Championship, on the pitch “1” mixed natural grass of the sports complex “The Walnut” in Noceto, Sunday 28 April 2024, Parma beat Napoli 7-1, took revenge for the 2-1 defeat in the first leg and qualified for the play offs.

Mission accomplished: Mister Mattia Bernardi’s team, called to a test of pride after the mocking 1-0 defeat in the final minutes of the last match played against Torino, before the half-time break, had to win to maintain fourth position in the standings and guarantee a place in the play offs (the top five are promoted) and so it was. The ducals finish with 42 points, preceded by Juventus (50) and Bologna (48): 4-2 for the Bolognese in the big match between the top two in the class; Sassuolo (46), and followed by Torino (41). Genoa remains out (sixth), stuck at 38 after the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cremonese.

Game without history: this Parma was too strong for Napoli who appeared too defeatist from the first minutes and closed in their own half waiting for the incursions of the home team. Conversely, it is immediately clear that the Crusaders do not intend to concede anything to their opponents: the scoring opportunities follow one after the other, but it is only in the 25th minute that the goal arrives. Personal action by Elia Plicco who, after having missed a couple of opponents, shoots into the net from just outside the area (1-0).

Shortly afterwards Kristaps Mosans hits the crossbar, while another shot from the edge of the area by Elia Plicco is saved by goalkeeper Manuel La Matta

In the 40th minute Parma doubled their lead: following a corner kick returned by the visiting goalkeeper, Marco Campatelli mocked him with a lob. It’s 2-0 with which the first half ends.

Upon returning from the locker rooms the Crociati closed it immediately, first with Leandro Ferrari (2nd minute) who headed home Elia Plicco’s precise cross (3-0) and then (7th minute) with Giorgio Chimezie who, after a and counter, he manages to reiterate in the net (4-0).

At this point Mister Mattia Bernardi makes some substitutions, and Napoli takes advantage of the momentary confusion to score (15′ st) the winning goal with Luigi Picca (4-1).

Once the goal was conceded, however, Parma regained their composure and began to push again, re-establishing the distance, in the 26th minute, with Giulio Baciocchi’s header (5-1). Shortly before (23′ st) Mister Mattia Bernardi is booked for protests.

At the half hour mark (30′ st) Leandro Ferrari scores a double, with a shot from the edge of the penalty area (6-1).

Finally in the 34th minute there is also glory for Eirinaios Papadimitriou who hits the mark on an assist from Biagio Macrì for the final 7-1.

Great choral performance by the whole team supported by the large audience present in the Noce stands. And now he expects to know his opponent in the play offs.
