“The problem is that the centre-right does not understand that politics is about sharing. Today there is a historic opportunity: being able to give the city into the hands of a moderate and liberal centre-right, with whom however it is not possible to find a solution because the the problem is not a programme, but the name of the top candidate who should carry forward a program shared between the various parties and the various souls of the centre-right, which is not the case”.
-Fratelli d’Italia has made a choice with Iandoli. What does he say?
“It is an identity choice, for what the governing party is. However, the territory, especially Avellino, has a different history and could respond differently, but undoubtedly starting ahead is of no use. It is important to put together the various souls to form a coalition.
-What does Avellino need after the legal storm?
“The city needs pacification and tranquility. The strange thing is that no attempt was even made to make a speech with all those young people who were in the city council, endowed with good intelligence, who could have represented the future ruling class of the city. Instead, here it is a race to see who gets there first and all this leads nowhere. Also because there are also European elections. It would be appropriate for those who are running for the European elections to be more relaxed about certain things, because in the end he needs everyone’s help.”
-Are you referring to D’Agostino?
“No, I am referring to everyone. It is not possible that in some neighborhoods there is such a great division on the names of the candidates. The shared name must be found on a program and on the quality of the candidate for mayor who can restart the city. And with respect to the councilors who were with Festa, I don’t agree with the term defectors because it is legitimate that anyone can change their mind. It doesn’t seem to me that these young people have moved from one boat to another. Of course, they are experiencing a moment of disarray due to what has happened the problem is to calm the atmosphere and also help these young people to take a position. Otherwise, if you want to do it, I repeat, the politics of whoever gets to the seat first will all lose.”
