Sanremo. Today, on the occasion of the Elective Assembly, the Board of Directors of Canottieri Sanremo was renewed. The outgoing councilors Aldo Baggioli, Alessandro Mager, Gianni Mascelli and Marco Raffa were thanked. The newly elected are: Sergio Tommasini, Walter Vacchino, Monica Albarelli, Renato Alberti, Luca Rossi, Enrico Amabile, Walter Verdecchia, Paolo Sibona, Stefano Puppo, Enrico Ingenito, Riccardo Ciani.
Within the Council, as per the Statute, the President was confirmed Sergio Tommasini, which since 2017 had taken the reins from Onorato Lanza and before that from Walter Vacchino. 2 Vice Presidents have been appointed, the cornerstones of canoeing and rowing sports activities: Monica Albarelli and Renato Alberti.
Walter Vacchino appointed Treasurer and Stefano Puppo Secretary of the Council.
The Secretariat of the ASD Canottieri Sanremo is entrusted to Amanda Embriaco.
The new Auditor, Dr. Attilio Scotti, was also elected at the meeting. Thanks to Dr. Marco Grazietti who followed the association for years. The Board of Arbitrators composed of 3 members was also appointed: Renata Albarelli, Pier Carlo Roggero and Amedeo Pizzamiglio. This assembly also concludes the bureaucratic process that led to the new statute (in accordance with the sports reform law), the recognition of the legal personality and the registration in the RUNTS. A step towards the future for the Rowing Association which turned 90 last year.
Sergio Tommasini: «During my mandate I had the honor of working closely with the members of the Board, the athletes and all those who make our sporting environment possible. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated many successes and built a solid foundation for the future of our association. I remember with pleasure the many medals of our young athletes and also the excellent results of the Masters. From 2017 to today I have acquired an in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of the association, making a tangible contribution to its improvement. Important challenges await us represented by the restructuring of the Old Port of Sanremo, which will require us to constantly relate to the implementing body, by the defense of our State Concession within the scope of the Bolkestein Directive in light of Recital 35 and above all to guarantee the Association that sporting continuity of young competitive talents which alone justifies any special treatment in our favor by Public Bodies. We must face them with determination and our team has already demonstrated that it has the right skills to defend our sporting, cultural and associative history and above all concrete and constant personal availability. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as President since 2017 and am excited to continue for another 4 years.”
