Marsala – Another day to forget for GesanCom Marsala Volley which will emerge defeated from the Lilibetano Sports Hall with the result of 1-3 thanks to partials 25/21, 18/25, 18/25 and 20/25 on the twenty-fourth day of the Championship B1 women’s volleyball series. The Apulian team Pantaleo Il Podio Fasano of Coach Paolo Totero will win the duel, a defeat which, even if mathematics does not yet decree it, definitively distances the Marsala team from reaching the promotion play-offs, the main objective of the season.
“We met a very well organized team who with Soleti and Martilotti really put us in difficulty – declares the Sports Director of Marsala Volley Maurizio Buscaino – In the second round we suffered some drops in performance which today led to our defeat. We must take the best that we have produced this season and start again in the next season from this group of athletes, building the best possible future.”
Erin Grippo was injured during the warm-up and Coach Campisi lined up Emma Sturniolo for the entire match to dribble diagonally with captain Varaldo, Silotto and Gasparroni, at the center of the net Caserta and Galiero alternating with libero Norgini. Fasano presents himself with Negro/Soleti, Martilotti/Barbolini, Antonaci and Marsengo in the center, Pisano libero.
The result will be four balanced sets in which, excluding the first which Marsala Volley will win with momentum, the guests will always manage to create a gap in their favor which the Lilibetans will struggle to recover. A trend of the match that will be repeated for all three sets lost with small differences in the fundamentals in favor of the guests who will, in the end, win three fundamental play-off points for them.
