Ginevra Minetti, 17 years old, she is Standard Bearer of the Republic: the young Tuscan girl from Montemurlo is among the 29 young Italians to whom the Head of State Sergio Mattarella awarded certificates of honour.
Ginevra, a young volunteer from the Misericordia of Prato, was rewarded, explains a note from the Quirinale “For the enthusiasm and generosity with which she works as a volunteer. During the recent flood in Prato she took part in the search for some missing people and she tirelessly dedicated herself to welcoming the many displaced people to whom she never failed to give a reassuring smile.”
During the emergency caused by the flood that hit the city of Prato and the municipalities of the province last November, Ginevra immediately made itself available and participated with great commitment in the search for two missing elderly people who were unfortunately found dead. She worked tirelessly in those difficult days, providing support to the flood victims, shoveling mud when necessary, distributing basic necessities to the population, without ever missing a smile and a word of comfort from anyone.
But Ginevra was not the only Tuscan to receive recognition. In addition to the 29 certificates of honor of “Standard of the Republic”, President Mattarella has in fact awarded three plaques for collective actions of young people and very young people who have expressed the values of solidarity with great force. Among the plaques awarded, one went to the class 2C of the F. Matteucci School of the Montalcini comprehensive institute of Bisenzio fields.
When the flood last November hit Campi Bisenzio hard, they, unlike many other kids, did not hesitate to do their part and with commitment and dedication they cleaned up the school premises invaded by water and mud, working with great sense. of responsibility and solidarity. In difficulty they supported each other, and not only in the school premises: many in fact hosted classmates at home who were forced to abandon their homes because they were flooded.
