The comeback does not materialize, with its concreteness it Spandau proves to be too high an obstacle for the company to overcome BPER Savona which therefore abandons to quarter finals the dream ofEuro Cup. After the 11-10 defeat against Zanelli, Angelini’s team was also defeated by Schoneberg Berlinwhere he pays dearly for excessive lightness in the finishing phase and the large spaces granted to Vladimir’s perimeter attackers Markovic: scared by the powerful centreboa Mateo Cuk, the red and whites collapse too often on their own 2 meters and are then unable to quickly attack the wingers, who are good at hitting the net with quality. In the first half of the match the difference in terms of clarity and coolness with the extra man is the factor that determines the gap between the two teams. Spandau is almost perfect, the Germans capitalize on the first three superiorities of the match and reach the 16th minute with a score of 4/5, while Savona stops at 1/5 and also misses a penalty with Rizzo, stopped by Baksa.
When Strelezkij And Tomasovic, at the start of the second quarter, they also find the goals from the perimeter with equal numbers and Spandau runs away, taking the lead 5-2 in the 13th minute. Savona reacts with 5-3 do you drive, but only finds effectiveness in attack with the quality of his perimeter shooters. The red and whites never manage to get to -1, punished repeatedly by Markovic’s shooters, in particular by Tomasovic, Croatian Jug school perfect in exploiting the late closures of the Ligurians to free his right foot. In the third quarter Savona, despite missing another penalty with Figlioli (still very good Baksa), responds blow for blow to Spandau’s attempts to close the match but arrives in the 24th minute at 10-7 for the Germans, scoring again with Strelezkij after a block from the usual Tomasovic. Even more difficult, however, is the start of the last quarter: after 21” Marek Tkac takes advantage of the freedom on the perimeter to punish Nicosia with a right foot that makes it 11-7. It is a heavy goal, because it gives Spandau the confidence necessary to repel any attempt by BPER to reopen the match.
