RIETI – Mattia Furlani’s first outdoor outing of the season without high notes, finishing fifth in the long jump competition at the Wanda Diamond League in Suzhou with a jump of 7.88. Victory went to the American Marquis Dandy with 8.05 ahead of the Chinese couple Jianan Wang (8.04) and Yuhao Shi (7.99). Between Furlani and the lowest step of the podium also the Jamaican Carey McLeod with 7.93. Now head to the Savona Meeting on May 15th, where last year Furlani amazed the world with a crazy 8.44, not approved because it was set with a tailwind just above the allowed limit (+2.2).
