Educational experience in the South for students from Polesine

BAIDA POLESINE (Rovigo) – In the week from 14 to 20 April the third classes of the scientific high school with the applied sciences option of the IIS Primo Levi of Badia Polesine, accompanied by the teachers Andrea Bibbiari, Serena Mazzetto and Massimo Zennaro, they lived a training experience in southern Italy divided into two stages: the Aeolian Islands and Palermo.

The purpose of this trip was, specifically, the reflection on two very important themes: responsible tourism and legality aimed at combating organized crime. Guided in the Lipari and Salina islands by Agnese and Gloria, two girls who are part of the Palma Nana association, who organized the activities during the week, the students had the opportunity to do activities also aimed at exploring these territories. After leaving the islands it was the turn of the city of Milazzo where they visited the castle in particular. After moving to the city of Palermo, the classes were welcomed and accompanied by the guides Alberto and Salvo, who led them to discover other territorial and social realities.

Thanks to the “Addio Pizzo” association, the visit to the La Kalsa neighborhood and the meeting with the “Cotti in Fragranza” biscuit shop, the two classes and their companions were able to learn about the stories of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino and the role of the Sicilian Mafia. “The possibility of having this experience in the Aeolian Islands was added this year thanks to the collaboration with the Libera association! – comments the Headmaster Amos Golinelli – and we can only be happy with this further opportunity to get to know beautiful corners of our Italy and to come into contact with the efforts of legality.”
