All ready for the most awaited day. Everything is ready for the external celebration of the patron saint of Modica, San Giorgio. It will be a colourful, folkloristic and highly devotional Sunday. It begins with the holy masses in the Cathedral, while at 8 and 12 the cannon shots. At 9.30 the ‘Belluardo-Risadelli’ band goes around the streets of the city.
In the afternoon, the highlight of the external celebration, anticipated at 3.30 pm by the Holy Mass presided over by the Parish Priest Father Michele Fidone, in the presence of the civil and military authorities, the Catholic association of bearers of St. George the Martyr and the Knights Templar of Frederick II. At 4pm the triumphal Sciuta of the relics and the simulacrum of San Giorgio Martire. This year too, Video Region will follow the entire feast of San Giorgio live on channel 14 and on the vrsicilia.it website.
All the stages, from start to finish, will be told by Chiara Scucces, Caterina Gurrieri and Valentina Di Rosa. A very long afternoon live that will end late at night, when the procession returns with the traditional turns through the naves of the Cathedral.
