Turin, two hundred Extinction Rebellion activists occupy the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper

“The Earth is burning.” And the activists of the environmentalist movement Extinction Rebellion (Xr) of Turin do not mince words to represent it. A burning red globe appears in front of the entrance to the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper, while activists occupy the inside and outside of the building. This time, however, there are many people taking part in the action, almost two hundred people, some even coming from outside the city.

About twenty are sitting in the lobby of the skyscraper while outside other activists have chained themselves together to block the entrance. And again, someone climbed onto the external tie rods, where the Xr flags were hung together with a large banner reading: “Seven governments decide, while the world burns”.

Those inside the skyscraper sing choirs and read speeches. Among them there is a “Naked King”, that is, an activist disguised as a skeleton, with a cloak and a crown, also on fire.

The anti-G7 mobilization continues in view of the meeting with world leaders dedicated precisely to climate and the environment which will begin tomorrow in Venaria.
