Matteo Salvini bet on the general Roberto Vannacci as the leader in all the lists for the League in the European elections and the disapproval of the Northern League exponents starts from Veneto, a murmur that risks becoming a real protest. Yesterday Massimiliano Fedriga he declared that he will vote for three Friulian candidates and today he takes matters further Roberto Marcatostating that, if it had been up to him, the leader of the list would have been a Venetian.
But with this move Salvini would like to intercept around 800 thousand more votes, the equivalent of around 3% if the 24 million in the 2022 elections voted, even at the cost of displeasing part of his party. But is there a way to improve the relationship with the Northern Italian League members? Vannacci is laconic: «There is no need to extend olive branches, because I have never raised any problems – he said in an interview with La Stampa -. Marcato’s disappointment: a Venetian league leader was better
Marcato does not mince his words, he considers Genare Vannacci completely alien to the Northern League, and also expresses his opinion on the question of Zaia’s candidacy and on the third mandate, now considered impossible. According to Marcato «Zaia’s candidacy is incompatible with that of Vannacci». Furthermore, he adds, «Vannacci has nothing to do with the history of the League».
