Sanremo. The “winter campaign” of Sanremo Like Swim has come to an end and it did so in great style, at the Sciorba in Genoa, with the regional category finals and those of the A rookies. In the first ones, the medal count was replenished thought Riccardo Giraudo (first in the 100 freestyle with 53″6; second in the 50 freestyle, third in the 100 backstroke), Leonardo Maravigli (silver in the 200 backstroke, but good
also to take fourth place in the 50) and Riccardo Gibelli (bronze in the 200 dolphin, then fourth in the 100
always df, fifth in the 100 freestyle and seventh in the 50 freestyle). But the performances of Renzo Bedin were also very valid (fourth in the 50 and 100 freestyle, with times of 26″8 and 59″, and fifth in the 50 and 100 freestyle), Edoardo Dolce (fourth in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke) , Leonardo Laura (seventh in the 100m freestyle), Letizia Giusto (seventh in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, sixth in the 200m) and Giulia Florio (seventh in the 50m freestyle and eighth in the 100m).
In the second, held on 20-21 April, Giacomo Lanteri placed a triple leg on the podium,
coming second in the 100 and 200 backstroke and in the 200 medley. Vittorio Anfosso also did well, second in the 200
dolphin and third in the 100; then 11th and 15th respectively in the 200 and 100 freestyle. Among the many athletes placed, Mattia Bertellini achieved seventh place in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke; Michele Bertocchi finished eighth in the 100 backstroke and 13th in the 100 freestyle; Claudia Gibelli came sixth in the 100 breaststroke; Lara Calabria finished 13th and 16th in the 200 and 100 freestyle and 10th in the 100 breaststroke; Asia Viola 14th in both the 100 and 200
ds; Giulia Scarlatti took home an 11th in the 100m breaststroke, a 14th in the 100m breaststroke and a 15th place in the 200m breaststroke and
mixed. Honorable mention also for Francesca Rolando, who reached her first final with the 4×100 freestyle relay.
And speaking of relays, in closing, the men’s 4×100 mixed medley (fourth), the 4×100 freestyle
men’s (sixth), the women’s 4×100 medley (seventh) and the women’s 4×100 freestyle (eighth). Results which certainly represent an excellent business card for president Sebastiano’s company
Bonaccorso and who provide positive energy to the entire coaching staff and to the group of athletes, capable of
constantly progress both from a technical and chronometric point of view.
