The last home match of the regular season of the 2023/2024 Givova Scafati Serie A championship will be played this Sunday 28 April, at 6.15 pm. Banco Sardegna Sassari will be hosted at the Beta Ricambi Arena PalaMangano, which has the same points in the standings as the gialloblù.

It will be the match between two teams that don’t have much to say to this championship, both having already achieved mathematical salvation and being four points away from the playoff zone with only two rounds remaining at the end of the regular season.

Coach Boniciolli and his staff were able to prepare for the challenge in the best possible way, having been able to have all their personnel available in this week preceding this last appearance of the Agro team in front of their supporters.

THE OPPONENT

But it won’t be easy to prevail against an opponent who managed to win 79-76 in the first leg and who, after the last three consecutive defeats, is looking for an important crisis-busting victory.

The island team, coached by the expert Bosnian coach Nenad Markovic, has a large and well-assorted staff, which is made up of the American point guard Jefferson (13.7 points and 3.7 assists on average), the guard Tyree (13.5 points and 2.4 assists on average), of the center of Senegalese origins Diop (11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds on average), of his French teammate Gombauld (10.8 points and 5.5 rebounds on average), of Greek winger Charalampopoulos (9.1 points on average), the equals McKinnie and Treier, as well as the wingers Cappelletti (3.5 assists on average), Kruslin and Raspino, as well as the big man Gandini.

THE STATEMENTS

Center John Richard Nunge: «We are excited to play our last home game of the regular season. We can’t wait to get on the field in front of our fans, to give them one last good performance. We will give everything on the pitch. The match will be hard fought and played with a lot of energy by both contenders, who want to finish the season on a high note. Sassari has an excellent point guard and a very athletic player base, which we will have to try to counter by any means possible. On Sunday it will be important for us to start strong, impose our pace straight away and play together as we know how. Our intent is to win these last two games, in order to put the icing on the cake of this great season we have had.”
