Four people they were arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Financial Police of Barletta which revealed acomplex fraud against the State perpetrated through the use, in compensation of tax debts, of non-existent tax credits related to facade bonusesto theecobonusat building renovations and to investments in the South.
Against the four suspects – one ended up in prison and three were placed under house arrest – were seized two million euros.
The investigations began following targeted economic-financial police activity relating to the incentives provided by the so-called “Relaunch Decree”.
The investigations have shed light on a fraudulent system based on the creation of false tax credits to companies and people connected to the organizers of the fraud, specifically finding out how a cooperative had used fictitious credits for over two million euros for construction work and investments never incurred on totally non-existent properties, for the purpose of do not pay withholding taxes, social security contributions and local taxesreducing or even eliminating in some cases the debt towards the Treasury.
