ANCONA – ˊScientists of tomorrowˊ: Galilei scores yet another success in Pisa. Out of one hundred girls from all over Italy, two were from the Liceo Scientifico Galileo Galilei in Ancona: Martina Pieroni (4G, on the right in the photo) and Vittoria Fedecostante (4M, on the left) at the Normale di Pisa for an internship on Stem disciplines (Science, Technology , Engineering and Mathematics). Participation was very selective, but Marina and Vittoria managed to participate.
«The initiative, entitled ˊScientists of tomorrowˊ, is an internship focused on STEM subjects and aimed exclusively at 100 girls from all over Italy selected by the Scuola Normale Superiore to encourage female participation in the scientific field, where gender disparity is still observed (gender gap)», explain the two participants.
«The second part of the course, from 22 to 24 April, involved 50 girls and consisted of theoretical lessons and exercises held by students of the Normale who are obtaining a master’s degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry or biology».
This allowed the students to learn more about life in the SNS (Scuola Normale Superiore) thanks to continuous discussion with the students of the Science and Literature classes, both in lessons and during recreational moments, such as in the canteen. Galilei, on this front, therefore continues to represent excellence.
