After almost three months since the end of the last Sanremo Festival, there is still no certain name of Amadeus’ successor at the helm of the singing event. A big problem for Rai, desperately looking for who will helm the next edition. Now a new, very famous name has emerged, but the person directly involved has highlighted some obstacles to its management.

The Sanremo 2025 issue has been dominating the front pages of specialized newspapers for some time now: almost three months after the end of the last edition, there is still no official name of who will succeed Amadeus at the helm of the event. Practically all the names of the most important TV faces have been mentioned, but so far those directly involved have walked away, explaining that they were not interested or did not feel ready for such a demanding experience. Among those done, those of Stefano De Martino, Alessia Marcuzzi, Paolo Bonolis, Antonella Clerici and Carlo Conti.
The latter seems the most likely to take over from his colleague, but at the moment there is still no official announcement from RAI and time is short now: Sanremo needs months and months of preparation, naturally between the choice of competing artists and the general organisation, which is no small feat. Now added to the list of names of possible hosts is that of a very famous Mediaset presenter, who however spoke of some difficulties that could arise.

Let’s talk about none other than Gerry Scotti, much loved face of Canale 5, protagonist of some of the network’s best-known programmes, such as Passaparola, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Free Fall and just recently The Wheel of Fortune, back on air yesterday in the early evening slot, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Mike Bongiorno, who was its historic host for many years. Alongside him, the former gieffina Samira Lui, seen in the latest edition of Alfonso Signorini’s Big Brother.

Interviewed by TvBlog, Gerry also spoke about the next Sanremo Festival, explaining that he felt ready to lead itand also having received approval in this regard from Pier Silvio Berlusconi. “Mediaset has already told me that I can easily do the Sanremo Festival. Because when there is a serious proposal, my editor has already told me that in that case he would definitely give me permission. The fact is that so far I have never received a serious proposal, so I have never had to ask permission, simple as that.” the host explained to the site.
And certainly, Scotti is not afraid of potentially having to wait a few more years: “On the time I gave myself? Well, Vianello led it at 76, so there’s time!”. And what if, surprisingly, it were “Uncle Gerry” who would lead the next Festival? This hypothesis seems to please many viewers.
