The Pollicino Project is underway (link https://www.cagliaridlab.it/it/iopollicino.page), the innovative mobility survey that proposes new solutions to collect, analyze and share data on the mobility habits of the city’s inhabitants Cagliari Metro.

The Project is promoted by the Municipality of Cagliari as part of the activities of the Cagliari Digital Lab, with the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the National Association of Italian Municipalities and the University of Cagliari, in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, the Foundation for Sustainable Development and the technological support of GreenShare, as a partner of the Cagliari Digital Lab.

The survey began on April 20 with the collection of mobility data; all citizens of the metropolitan city of Cagliari over the age of 16 can offer their contribution. Participating is very simple: download the loPollicino app on your phone and consent to the processing of your personal data and the geolocation of your smartphone. It is sufficient to keep the app active for 7 days, even if not consecutive, for all daily movements to be recorded automatically and anonymously. It is not necessary to dedicate more than a few minutes a day to check and validate the data collected and add some essential information.

At the end of the 7 days of investigation, having successfully completed all the objectives proposed by the app, one’s contribution to the Pollicino project will be considered concluded and it will be possible for participants to receive some of the prizes offered by some of the project partners who support its efforts. purpose.

Knowledge of citizens’ mobility habits and behaviors is a fundamental component for intervening and modifying mobility within a territory, identifying more efficient solutions with lower environmental impacts. This is why the contribution of citizens is important, starting from the Municipality employees themselves and continuing with the schools and companies present in the area: the more people who participate in the survey, the more the data collected will be more representative of the mobility of the population. the metropolitan area of ​​Cagliari.
