Reggio Emilia He climbed onto a freight car parked at the historic station and then the train started to move. Only the timely and providential intervention of a local patrol Reggio Emilia Railway Police prevented a tragedy from taking place on the afternoon of Friday 26 April.

It all started when three off-duty Polfer officers noticed a young man on the rise who had climbed onto a carriage of a freight train parked at the time on the first track and they immediately alerted their patrol colleagues. When the train started moving, the officers promptly contacted the Bologna Compartment Operations Center to implement all the procedures necessary to stop the train from moving and to disconnect the high voltage electricity line, thus preventing the man from falling. or was electrocuted.

The train was stopped a few hundred meters ahead and the Polfer men were finally able to make contact with the boy who, in the meantime, had been lying on the roof of the carriage babbling nonsense.

At the sight of the patrol, the young man started running on the roof of the train, jumping from one carriage to another. It was not easy for the police to convince the young man to desist from his behavior and only after a short chase and several minutes of negotiations did the boy agree to get off the train.

The young man, a 22-year-old in a confused state, was accompanied to the Polfer offices and entrusted to the care of 118. In the meantime the agents managed to track down the boy’s mother who immediately reached Reggio Emilia.
