Artistic, European Championships 2024: four medals at the Junior finals in Rimini

The apparatus finals of the European Junior Men’s Artistic Championships took place this morning in the pavilions of the Rimini Fair.

The blues Tommaso Brugnami, Diego Vazzola and Manuel Beretta they competed this morning on floor exercise (Brugnami, Berettera), rings (Brugnami), vault (Brugnami) and bars (Vazzola, Berettera), winning 4 European specialty medals at the Junior finals of the European Championships in Rimini!

Trio of medals for Tommaso Brugnami, two golds on floor exercise and rings and a silver on vault. Manuel Berettara’s bronze on parallel bars completes Italy’s poker.

FREE BODY

With the score of 13.866, Tommaso Brugnami wins the title of European Junior Champion in Floor Exercise. A splendid exercise of high technical value allowed him to remain at the top of the rankings until the end. Behind him the French duet composed of Anthony Mansard (13,500) e Alan Moullec (13,333) to complete the podium.

The other blue player in the race, Manuel Beretta instead he placed fifth with a score of 13.166. Unfortunately, a few too many inaccuracies in the exercise did not allow him to match his qualifying performance.

HORSE WITH HANDLES

No blue was competing in the pommel horse final. The following were on the podium: the Armenian Hamlet Manukyan with the score of 14.500 and a senior level exercise; the Bulgarian David Ivanov (14,300) and Armenian Mamikon Khachatryan (14,266).

TURNING

The vault final was particularly intense. Tommaso Brugnami (first Yurchenko jump with two and a half twists: 14,500; second double twist jump from Kasamatsu: 13,900; average of the two jumps: 14,200) held out at the top of the rankings until the last gymnast, the British Sol Scott, to which he had to give up his place. In fact, Scott jumped into the lead with an average of 14.266 (both jumps with the same score). The Spaniard closes the podium Sergio David Kovacs with a score of 14.016.

RINGS

The Italian, however, did not lose heart and, putting in the necessary determination to climb the rankings, he also placed the thrust on the rings with a score of 13.266. Beyond the gold of Tommaso Brugnamithe silver goes to the British Gabriel Langton (13.233) and the bronze to the Austrian Vincent Lindpointner (13,200).

EVEN PARALLELS

Even in this final there was no blue player present. The podium is made up of the British Uzair Chowdhury (14.066) and come on three silvers awarded to gymnasts with the same score: French Anthony Mansard (13,700), German Jonas Eder (13,700), and the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Shved (13,700)

BAR

A beautiful bronze medal for Manuel Beretta (13,300) which today completes the poker of prizes for Italy. Before him the French Anthony Mansard (13.433) who played a great race in every final today and the Belgian Kyano Schepers (13,333).

The other Italian in the race, Diego Vazzola, placed himself in seventh position with a score of 12.633.
