A 30-year-old man was stopped by the police for the killing of a 32-year-old, found this morning in Villafranca Padovana around 6.30 am, with a deep wound on his side, made with a knife. According to what was learned, the body was seen by a resident who raised the alarm on 112. While the police arrived on the scene, the attacker ran away and the noises woke up the dogs in the nearby houses.

A police inspector who lives in the same neighborhood then looked out to understand what was happening and noticed the alleged killer trying to climb over a fence. Having recognized him, he set out on his trail, coordinating with the 112 crew. Shortly afterwards he spotted the alleged murderer half hidden in a hedge, chased him and caught up with him. The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri, is now continuing to understand the precise dynamics of the crime and to ascertain the responsibilities of the arrested person.

From the investigations by the Carabinieri and the police it emerges that the murder took place in the victim’s home and that the victim and the alleged murderer knew each other, having both had a past with drug addiction problems. The alleged murderer had recently left a recovery facility. It cannot be ruled out that the motive may be linked to the world of drug addiction.
