The fifth day of the year of the “Rail Safe Day” operation took place, in which 68 operators of the Sicilian Railway Police were involved. The results: 906 people checked, 75 railway sites inspected including 64 stations, 6 high sanctions. The Railway Police Service, to combat the incorrect behavior of travelers and the undue presence, in the railway sector, of individuals who jeopardize the safety of traffic and users, has arranged extraordinary checks throughout the national territory. In Sicily the operations were coordinated by the Compartmental Operations Center of the Railway Police which directed the checks towards those railway areas where statistically improper conduct by railway users occurs more frequently such as failure to use the underpasses, exceeding the yellow line waiting for trains, crossing level crossings with closed barriers and in general failure to comply with the rules in force in railway systems which sometimes cause accidental investments.

Ruoppolo’s lookalike, Angelo Joppolo, alias Alessandro Pappacoda, was the protagonist of the successful and popular column “Camera Zhen”, broadcast on Teleacras, and of the Christmas film “Scratch and Run”, with a very crowded “premiere” at the Cine Astor of Agrigento.
