Five theoretical lessons and five practical outings to approach speleology in a safe and knowledgeable way
The CAI Foligno Speleo Group presents the 15th introductory course to speleology, an opportunity to learn about the world of caves and approach speleological practice in a safe and knowledgeable way.
The course, directed by the Speleological Instructor Massimo Minna, includes five theoretical lessons and five practical outings, including rock gyms and caves.
The theoretical lessons will be held starting from May 16th, at 9.00 pm, at the CAI headquarters in Foligno in Via Bolletta n. 18. During the meetings, various topics related to speleology will be discussed, such as geology, karst morphology, rope progression techniques and cave safety.
The practical outings, however, will be an opportunity to put into practice what has been learned during the theoretical lessons.
The first two outings will take place in the rock gym, where participants will be able to learn rope progression techniques and safety maneuvers.
The next three outings will instead be in the cave, where participants will be able to explore underground environments accompanied by the instructors of the CAI Foligno Speleo Group.
The course is open to all, with a maximum number of 10 participants.

The CAI Foligno Speleo Group, founded in 1976, has been active for over 40 years in the research, exploration and documentation of caves and natural cavities.
