Puglia Region, also for managers only a mini-reshuffle

BARI – It won’t be a revolution. Indeed, just as it was for the council, the Region will also limit itself to a few small adjustments for the directors of the departments. And not even in a very short time: the contracts of the ten managers will expire on May 6, and – inevitably – will have to be extended for the time necessary to complete the investigation.

There are 194 candidates, and although the requirements set out in the public notices are deliberately generic (they require a degree and five years of managerial experience) a screening is necessary which will then bring the lists to the attention of the governor Michele Emiliano and the head of cabinet Pinuccio Catalano . The ten directors in office had decided, all together, to send a signal to politics: to resubmit their candidacy only for the position currently occupied. In other words: I am a professional in my sector, I am not looking for managerial positions. A strategy that, however, some have decided not to observe: Silvia Pellegrini (Labour), Valentina Romano (Welfare) and Aldo Patruno (Culture) have in fact decided to apply for all departments. Maybe it’s not a coincidence. Pellegrini is well regarded in the presidency, but she seems to no longer be in harmony with the councilor Sebastiano Leo …
