With a circular to families, the director of the “Orazio Grassi” scientific high school in Piazza Brennero, in Savona, communicated the decision of the Institute Council to suspend lessons on May 7th, the day on which the Giro d’Italia will pass through the City of Torretta. Italy of cycling, with lessons scheduled for Saturday 11 May. The suspension of lessons should also concern municipal schools.

The Prefecture, also present with the Superintendency, the prefect De Rogatis invited the municipal administrations to close the roads two and a half hours before the passage.

The Municipality of Savona expects to discuss with the comprehensive schools and the Superintendency to decide whether to limit lesson times and guarantee the exit of pupils before the road closures.

In the meantime, the head of the high school Grassi explains in the circular that “on May 7th the Giro d’Italia is scheduled to pass – writes Daniela Ferfraro – and the initiatives related to it in the city streets close to the high school (… via Crispi, via Torino, via Verdi, piazza Brennero, via San Lorenzo, via Cavour…). This event will lead to restrictions on private traffic from the previous evening and considerable problems with the circulation of public transport during the day. Consequently, in order to limit inconvenience to staff and to the students, the Institute Council of this high school has decided to suspend teaching activities for May 7th and to resume them on Saturday May 11th”.

“On May 7th the school will remain open, with a minimum number of ATA staff, to allow the staff to hold elections for the Superior Council of Public Education”.
