The musical panorama of the Aosta Valley is enriched with the vibrant debut of the band Onivà and their first single “Controcorrente”, released on 10 April 2024 on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and YouTube Music, with upcoming availability on other services of streaming.
Born in 2019, Onivà began their journey performing pop-rock covers on various occasions. This experience matured the group, pushing it towards the creation of original music. “Controcorrente”, the song just released, addresses the theme of diversity and the fight against homologation, describing the challenge of being accepted and the desire not to bend to conformity. The lyrics depict an “upside down” existence, where the female voice stands out in medium-high tones, giving the song a rough and authentic energy.
The band’s current lineup includes Federica Celentano on vocals, Stefano Orlando on guitar, Marco Mathamel on drums and Riccardo Jans on bass, but a possible expansion of the line-up is expected in the future.
The production, recording, mixing and mastering of “Controcorrente” was handled by Raffaele “Neda” D’Anello at the MeatBeat Studio in Aosta, together with two other songs intended for release as singles. Onivà are already projected towards new musical adventures, with planned studio entries to work on a complete album scheduled for the end of 2024.
With their fresh sound and lyrics that address current and universal themes, Onivà promise to conquer a special place in the hearts of music lovers, bringing a new breath to the Aosta Valley music scene and beyond.
