The efforts of the State Police are incessant in order to guarantee safety on the road. The intensive services of the Traffic Police are part of this process, which in the first half of the month affected the streets of Agrigento, also carried out together with the health personnel of the Agrigento Police Headquarters.
Overall, 70 people were checked, of which 2 were fined for driving while intoxicated. In addition to the offenses mentioned, a young man was reported to the AG for driving under the influence of psychotropic substances.
The checks are part of a program to prevent the phenomenon of accidents, which has as its main cause, in addition to speeding, also the violation of behavioral rules established by the Highway Code. From this perspective, the personnel employed not only in the Agrigento Polstrada Section but in the Canicattì and Sciacca Detachments, intensified their activity in the week of Roadpol checks dedicated to this, employing 15 patrols and issuing 86 administrative sanctions.
