the Giro d’Italia arrives in a week

FANO Double race against time, this time, in the field of asphalting, which has always lent itself to having an electoral impact. In a month we will go to the polls but the deadline imposed by the Giro d’Italia is even more pressing.

The arrival of the stage starting from Martinsicuro is exactly one week away and from the moment of the announcement it was clear that the spring campaign on the city roads was greatly affected by the need to reorganize the route taken by the caravan.

The extraordinary promotion

Another need is to present to the public connected worldwide an image of the city that enhances its merits, obscuring defects and incompleteness. And on this side too, every minute is a good one to prevent the message of a city in progress from getting through. At present and retracing the twenty-odd kilometers that the runners will cover in the municipal territory, the inventory that starts from viale Gramsci, where the finish line is set, and from viale XII Settembre, records the reconstruction of the surface, now carried out for some time, raised sections at intersections and pedestrian crossings, which have been levelled.

However, work continues feverishly on the former Agip area, still cordoned off but whose profile is now very distinguishable, while towards the sea the resurfacing of Viale Battisti has been definitively completed, where, however, the Ancona side side road is still to be completed, especially in the upper part. . On the other side, however, no steps have been taken to plant the missing plants and there are those who have not failed to point this out, just as in Piazzale Rosselli, where the redevelopment has been done since the end of 2023, what is being discussed are convenience and design of the parallelepiped-shaped stone seats installed only in recent days.

The construction site seen worldwide

The area of the Rastatt amphitheater, however, is still a construction site in all respects and so it can only be reproduced, while no intervention has been made on the Viale Adriatico background. The long-awaited resurfacing of Via Ruggeri will take place along that same route from tomorrow to Wednesday of next week (no parking and alternating one-way traffic lights regulated) but the Giro will not pass through there.

The route instead includes via Nazario Sauro, where some sections towards the sea have been reworked and artificial curbs and speed bumps at the port bend have been removed. Via della Liscia and parts of via Roma have also been rearranged for days but men and vehicles have also completed their task on some internal arteries, such as via Campanella, entirely rebuilt for the stretch marked by the race which will then head towards Bellocchi and from there to Cuccurano to take via Patuccia and tackle the Monte Giove climb.

Plants are missing

Whether it’s the Giro effect or the voting effect, as always those who live or pass through the modernized roads are happy and the others less so, it is clear that even where asphalt is done there are those who turn up their noses at the methods of intervention. Like at the Lido, where at the end of the intervention plan launched in 2023 there are complaints of approximations in the laying of bitumen and the failure to replant in via Trieste.
