While the last work leaves the Aragonese Castle, the doors of the ancient manor close on the “Spring of Beauty” event conceived and coordinated by the national president of AIParC Dr. Salvatore Timpano in partnership with the Municipality of Reggio Calabria. Two intense weeks dedicated to the awakening of all the arts with conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, performances, concerts, book presentations. The culture that embraces the city of Reggio Calabria and in turn is reciprocated with incredible and enthusiastic participation.
The final day featured the historian Giuseppe Caridi who presented his latest work entitled “Ferrante di Aragona, Re di Napoli” in the splendid location. On the sixth centenary of his birth”. A journey, in which he was accompanied by Doctor Timpano, on which he led the bystanders. Pages in which the life of the Sovereign who wanted to unite Italy is narrated. A journey, the one narrated by the speakers, into the Italian fifteenth century which saw our city as the protagonist. The Spring of Beauty, which began with the concert at sunset at the columns of “Opera” by Maestro Tresoldi, ended with the “identifying” music of the quartet composed by Alessandro Calcaramo,
Sergio Di Giorgio, Santina Speziano and Francesco Massara who with their instruments, guitar, “fischialetto”, tambourine and Calabrian lyre, performed for an evocative musical curtain. On the sidelines of the event there was a live demonstration of the minting of the Apollo coin by the ancient master Domenico Colella and the live execution of an apotropaic mask by the master ceramist of Seminara Rocco Condurso.
After the institutional greetings of the deputy mayor Paolo Brunetti and the thanks of Dr. Timpano to the manager of the municipality and to the officials and employees who in various capacities have cooperated with AIPar.C. for the realization of the great cultural event, to all those who made the realization of the event possible, the performance of the National, European and association anthems marked the closure of one of the “hardest bets” made in the city under the cultural profile.
