He escapes from control and tries to beat up the police, a man in trouble

Stopped for a routine traffic check, a man tried to escape from the police. Once reached, he attempted to beat up the two soldiers who, however, managed to overcome his resistance and arrest him.

The incident happened in Copparo, in the late evening of Wednesday 24 April, when a patrol from the Carabinieri station stopped a car for a normal road traffic control in the hamlet of Tamara. The occupant of the stopped car, a 41-year-old Nigerian citizen, tried to escape control when the military began checking his documents and the car, fleeing and forcing the police to chase him, with the support of his colleagues from Ferrara who attended in the meantime.

The man was reached shortly after. At that point, the 41-year-old attempted violence to prevent the military from controlling them, kicking and punching them in order to make them desist, but provoking the reaction of the carabinieri who blocked him with theuse of stinging spray.

Only then was the 41-year-old calmed down and arrested for having offered violence and resistance as well as for having caused injuries to a public official. After the identification procedures, the man was placed under house arrest in his home and on the morning of Friday 26 April he appeared before the Court of Ferrara, which the arrest was validated postponing the hearing.
