Today’s Secolo XIX has published a table that measures the points won for each team’s wages, drawing up a ranking. Lecce is the team that has been able to exploit every single cent spent on the squad better than the others, at least on the 33rd matchday of the championship. The calculation for each team was made by dividing the points scored by the overall gross salary. The Salento team is the team that costs the least of all, with its 14 million.
In this ranking Milan is in 13th place, considering the 69 points scored and the 86 million gross wages. The result is 0.80 points per million spent. Considering the historical competitors (we therefore exclude Bologna) only Atalanta has done better so far for the title and qualification for the Champions League. Italian champions Inter themselves obtained 0.75 points per million spent. This is because the Nerazzurri’s wage bill is 115.17 million compared to the 86 points obtained so far. Lazio are also below, Naples, Roma and Juventus are very bad with the Giallorossi spending 102.92 million and the Bianconeri even 120.6 (highest salary amount in the whole of Serie A)
