SANTA MARINELLA – Mayor Tidei met with colleagues Alessandro Grando, mayor of Ladispoli and Mario Baccini, mayor of Fiumicino.
“A pleasant day and a constructive moment of meeting with the other mayors of the area who, like Santa Marinella, have already expressed themselves in favor of joining the new Province Porta d’Italia” – this is how Pietro Tidei wanted to describe the event , promoted to celebrate the 54th anniversary of the autonomy of the Municipality of Ladispoli – it was a real pleasure to be able to participate in this event promoted by the mayor Alessandro Grando, and it was very fruitful to also be able to meet with my colleague and mayor of Fiumicino Mario Baccini. The date of 6 May 1970 was remembered when what until then had only been the hamlet of Ladispoli broke away from Cerveteri and became an autonomous municipality. From that moment, as Mayor Grando recalled, a path began which today confirms without the possibility of denial that autonomy was certainly the right choice”. “A concept that I would like to revisit – continued Tidei – to remember the epochal importance that the choice of district autonomy that the Municipalities that have decided to abandon the aegis of the Metropolitan City of Rome are making today, and begin a new era that will, without a shadow of a doubt, have important positive effects on the economy, but also on the quality of life of the population of the new Porta D’Italia province”. “We will continue with conviction and determination, this path – concluded Tidei – which, together with colleagues from Tolfa, Allumiere, Civitavecchia and Tarquinia, we have undertaken and which we will pursue until we arrive, hopefully soon, at the establishment of the new body locality that will finally unite homogeneous municipalities that have been in the Southern Etruria area for millennia2”.
